Externally Funded Contract Employment definition

Externally Funded Contract Employment means a period of employment which is provided for from identifiable funding external to the University, at a level greater than 50% of the costs of the position (including on-costs). The source of the external funding must be linked to the position. External funding does not include part of an operating grant from the Government, nor is it funding comprised of payments of fees made by or on behalf of students.   • Defined Contribution Plan A retirement plan which provides for an individual account for each participant and for benefits based solely on the amount contributed to the participant's account, and any income, expenses, gains and losses, and any forfeitures of accounts of other participants which the plan may allocate to such participant's account. The Advisory Committee must treat all defined contribution plans (whether or not terminated) maintained by the Employer as a single plan. Solely for purposes of the limitations of Part 2 of this Article III, the Advisory Committee will treat employee contributions made to a defined benefit plan maintained by the Employer as a separate defined contribution plan. The Advisory Committee also will treat as a defined contribution plan an individual medical account (as defined in Code Section 415(l)(2)) included as part of a defined benefit plan maintained by the Employer and, for taxable years ending after December 31, 1985, a welfare benefit fund under Code Section 419(e) maintained by the Employer to the extent there are post-retirement medical benefits allocated to the separate account of a key employee (as defined in Code Section 419A(d)(3)).

  • Excluded Employee means an employee as defined in section 3527, subd. (b) of the Government Code (Ralph C. Dills Act) except those excluded employees who are designated managerial pursuant to section 18801.1 of the Government Code.

  • Additional gap medical benefits means the benefits (if any) payable in respect of medical expenses that are more than the schedule fee and which otherwise meet the requirements of the fund’s no or known gap policy, provided always that the medical expenses relate to a professional service that:

  • income-related employment and support allowance means an income-related allowance under Part 1 of the Welfare Reform Act 2007;

  • Current Employees has the meaning set forth in Section 6.4(a).

  • Supported employment means the ongoing supports to participants who, because of their disabilities, need intensive ongoing support to obtain and maintain an individual job in competitive or customized employment, or self-employment, in an integrated work setting in the general workforce at or above the state’s minimum wage or at or above the customary wage and level of benefits paid by the employer for the same or similar work performed by individuals without disabilities. The outcome of this service is sustained paid employment at or above the minimum wage in an integrated setting in the general workforce in a job that meets personal and career goals. Supported employment services can be provided through many different service models.

  • Client employer means an Employer that is involved in a Tri-Party Employment Relationship due to obtaining the services of a third-party entity.

  • Parent Employee Plan means any plan, program, policy, practice, contract, agreement or other arrangement providing for compensation, severance, termination pay, performance awards, stock or stock-related awards, fringe benefits or other employee benefits or remuneration of any kind, whether written or unwritten or otherwise, funded or unfunded, including without limitation, each "EMPLOYEE BENEFIT PLAN," within the meaning of Section 3(3) of ERISA which is maintained, contributed to, or required to be contributed to, by Parent or any Affiliate for the benefit of any Parent Employee;

  • Rehabilitative employment means any occupation or employment for wage or profit or any course or training that entitles the disabled employee to an allowance, provided such rehabilitative employment has the approval of the employee’s doctor and the underwriter of the Plan. If earnings are received by an employee during a period of total disability and if such earnings are derived from employment which has not been approved as rehabilitative employment, then the regular monthly benefit from the Plan shall be reduced by one hundred percent (100%) of such earnings.

  • Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) means a business concern certified as a DVBE by the Office of Small Business Certification and Resources, Department of General Services.

  • Casual Employees means employees who are employed on a casual basis and includes persons who are employed for periods not exceeding five days at any one time.

  • Customized employment means an approach to supported employment which individualizes the employment relationship between employees and employers in ways that meet the needs of both. Customized employment is based on an individualized determination of the strengths, needs, and interests of the person with a disability and is also designed to meet the specific needs of the employer. Customized employment may include employment developed through job carving, self-employment or entrepreneurial initiatives, or other job development or restructuring strategies that result in job responsibilities being customized and individually negotiated to fit the needs of the individual with a disability. Customized employment assumes the provision of reasonable accommodations and supports necessary for the individual to perform the functions of a job that is individually negotiated and developed.

  • Contract employee means a probationary faculty employee or a grant- funded employee hired on a year-to-year basis in accordance with Education Code 87470.

  • Continuing Employees shall have the meaning set forth in Section 6.9(a).

  • Technical Employees means those employees having special and specific engineering, geological or other professional skills, and whose primary function in Joint Operations is the handling of specific operating conditions and problems for the benefit of the Joint Property.

  • Supported employment services means provision of job training and supervision available to assist an individual who needs intensive ongoing support to choose, get, and keep a job in a community business setting. Supported employment is a service planned in partnership with public vocational assistance agencies and school districts and through Social Security Work Incentives when available.

  • Hired Employees has the meaning set forth in Section 6.1(a).

  • Company Employee Plan means any plan, program, policy, practice, contract, agreement or other arrangement providing for compensation, severance, termination pay, deferred compensation, performance awards, stock or stock-related awards, fringe benefits or other employee benefits or remuneration of any kind, whether written or unwritten or otherwise, funded or unfunded, including without limitation, each "employee benefit plan," within the meaning of Section 3(3) of ERISA which is or has been maintained, contributed to, or required to be contributed to, by the Company or any Affiliate for the benefit of any Employee, or with respect to which the Company or any Affiliate has or may have any liability or obligation;

  • Seller 401(k) Plan shall have the meaning set forth in Section 6.01(i).
