CUPE Hospitals Plan definition

CUPE Hospitals Plan means the Pension Plan for CUPE Employees of New Brunswick Hospitals, Registration # 0385849 under the Income Tax Act.
CUPE Hospitals Plan as well as the Plans‟s conversion to a shared risk plan in accordance with the requirements of the Pension Benefits Act, S.N.B. 1987, P-5.1 (“PBA”). The Plan was so revised and converted to the Shared Risk Plan for CUPE Employees of New Brunswick Hospitals

  • Effective as of the Conversion Date, no person who has any entitlement under the terms of the CUPE Shared Risk Plan shall have any entitlement or claim under or with respect to the CUPE Hospitals Plan.

  • A Member may transfer employment from one Contributing Employer to another Contributing Employer without disruption of the Member’s membership in the CUPE Shared Risk Plan provided there is no break in the Member’s Continuous Employment and provided also that the Member did not elect a refund (in the form of a transfer, a cash payment or otherwise) of the Member's contributions to the CUPE Shared Risk Plan or to the CUPE Hospitals Plan, or did not elect at any time the transfer of the Termination Value.

  • The nonvoting membership of the Academic Council shall include all senior officers of the University, including the President, Vice President, and other members of the Board and administrative staff.

  • Once the newly constituted Board of Trustees is established in accordance with ArticleXIV the CUPE Hospitals Plan Board of Trustees shall cease to act as trustees of the CUPE Shared Risk Plan and shall not have any further powers, duties, responsibilities or liabilities hereunder or under the Pension Benefits Act.

  • Within the period prescribed by the Pension Benefits Act, the Board of Trustees shall provide to each Employee who becomes eligible for membership in the CUPE Shared Risk Plan (including, for greater certainty, those Members who became eligible as a result of the conversion of the CUPE Hospitals Plan and the Pre-Conversion Retirees and Other Pre-Conversion CUPE Claimants), a written description of the CUPE Shared Risk Plan.

  • In the event of a Member’s termination of employment with the Employer, other than through death, prior to the Member’s Vesting Date, the Member is entitled to a refund of the Member’s contributions to the CUPE Shared Risk Plan and the CUPE Hospitals Plan with Accumulated Interest.

  • For Pre-Conversion Retirees and Other Pre-Conversion CUPE Claimants in receipt of a pension at the Conversion Date, the provisions applicable to the form of payment of such pensions under the CUPE Hospitals Plan at the Conversion Date continue to apply under the CUPE Shared Risk Plan, except that COLA granted under Article VI and any adjustments required by Appendix C shall apply.

  • Subject to Section 3.8, where a former Employee who has a benefit entitlement under the CUPE Hospitals Plan or the CUPE Shared Risk Plan for a prior period of employment with an Employer again becomes an Employee, such Employee will be treated as a new Employee for purposes of eligibility and participation in the CUPE Shared Risk Plan on and after the date of re-employment.

  • Each Employee who is a member of the CUPE Hospitals Plan as of the Conversion Date is eligible and shall automatically continue as a Member of the CUPE Shared Risk Plan.

  • SPECIALTY HOSPITAL means a hospital or the specialty unit of a general hospital that is licensed by the state. It must be designed to care for patients with injuries or special illnesses. This includes, but is not limited to, a long-term acute care unit, an acute mental health or acute short-term rehabilitation unit or hospital. Hospital does not mean: • convalescent home; • rest home; • nursing home; • home for the aged; • school and college infirmary; • residential treatment facility; • long-term care facility; • urgent care center or freestanding ambulatory surgical center; • facility providing mainly custodial, educational or rehabilitative care; or • a section of a hospital used for custodial, educational or rehabilitative care, even if accredited by the JCAHO or listed in the AHA directory.

  • o GENERAL HOSPITAL means a hospital that is designed to care for medical and surgical patients with acute illness or injury.

  • General hospital means a subclass of hospital that provides surgical services and emergency services.

  • Rural hospital means a hospital that meets both of the following:

  • Nursing program means a series of courses leading to an LPN certificate or an ADN degree provided through a Wyoming community college; or a BSN degree or a Master’s degree provided through the University of Wyoming; or, in the case of a candidate for a doctoral degree, provided through an institution offering the required nursing education courses under contract with the WICHE, or in a distance nursing education program provided through a university that is regionally accredited.

  • Health care plan means any contract, policy or other arrangement for benefits or services for medical or dental care or treatment under:

  • Nursing Care Plan means a plan of care developed by a nurse that describes the medical, nursing, psychosocial, and other needs of a child and how those needs shall be met. The Nursing Care Plan includes which tasks shall be taught, assigned, or delegated to the qualified provider or family.

  • Mental Hospital means a health care facility (or its psychiatric unit) which:

  • Care Plan means a licensee's written description of a resident's needs, preferences, and capabilities, including by whom, when, and how often care and services are to be provided.

  • ESBD means the Electronic State Business Daily, the electronic marketplace where State of Texas bid opportunities over $25,000 are posted. The ESBD may currently be accessed at http://www.txsmartbuy.com/sp.

  • Asset Management Plan means a plan created by the department and approved by the state transportation commission or a plan created by a local road agency and approved by the local road agency's governing body that includes provisions for asset inventory, performance goals, risk of failure analysis, anticipated revenues and expenses, performance outcomes, and coordination with other infrastructure owners.

  • Virginia Stormwater Management Program or “VSMP” means a program approved by the State Board after September 13, 2011, that has been established by a locality to manage the quality and quantity of runoff resulting from land-disturbing activities and shall include such items as local ordinances, rules, permit requirements, annual standards and specifications, policies and guidelines, technical materials, and requirements for plan review, inspection, enforcement, where authorized in this article, and evaluation consistent with the requirements of this article and associated regulations.

  • Silver hospital cover means a policy that covers hospital treatment in all the clinical categories required for a silver policy.

  • Participating private hospital means a hospital that has a hospital purchaser provider agreement with Latrobe.

  • Flexi Plan means any individual indemnity hospital insurance plan under the VHIS framework with enhancement(s) to any or all of the protections or terms and benefits that the Standard Plan provides to the Policy Holder and the Insured Person, subject to certification by the Government. Such plan shall not contain terms and benefits which are less favourable than those in the Standard Plan, save for the exception as may be approved by the Government from time to time.

  • Public hospital means a governmental entity of a political subdivision of the state of Iowa that is authorized by legislative authority. For purposes of this subrule, a “public hospital” must also meet the requirements of Iowa Code section 249J.3. Under Iowa Code section 249J.3, a “public hospital” must be licensed pursuant to Iowa Code chapter 135B and governed pursuant to Iowa Code chapter 145A (merged hospitals), Iowa Code chapter 347 (county hospitals), Iowa Code chapter 347A (county hospitals payable from revenue), or Iowa Code chapter 392 (creation by city of a hospital or health care facility). For the purposes of this definition, “public hospital” does not include a hospital or medical care facility that is funded, operated, or administered by the Iowa department of human services, Iowa department of corrections, or board of regents, or the Iowa Veterans Home.

  • Nursing Service Plan means the plan that is developed by the registered nurse based on an Individual’s initial nursing assessment, reassessment, or updates made to a nursing assessment as a result of monitoring visits. The Nursing Service Plan must describe all licensed nursing services the Individual shall receive and be pursuant to the Individual’s Service Plan.

  • Health plan or "health benefit plan" means any policy,

  • State health plan means the employee and retiree insurance program provided for in Article 5, Chapter 11, Title 1.

  • Alliance means the Public Service Alliance of Canada;

  • Non-participating private hospital means a hospital that does not have a hospital purchaser provider agreement with Latrobe. (If you use a non-participating private hospital you may incur a large out-of- pocket expense.)

  • HACCP plan means a written document that delineates the formal procedures for following the hazard analysis and critical control point principles developed by the National Advisory Committee on Microbiological Criteria for Foods.

  • Inpatient hospital services means any health care service provided to a patient who has been admitted to a hospital and is required to remain in that hospital overnight, but does not include any secure forensic mental health services;

  • Bronze hospital cover means a policy that covers hospital treatment in all the clinical categories required for a bronze policy.
