Critical Component definition

Critical Component means, in respect of a weapons system referred to in the definition of Prohibited Defense Asset, a component used specifically in the production of the weapons system or plays a direct role in the lethality of the weapons system.
Critical Component means any component that would require the shutdown of a critical process unit if that component was shutdown or disabled.
Critical Component means a part identified as critical by the design approval holder during the product type validation process, or otherwise by the exporting authority. Typically, such components include parts for which a replacement time, inspection interval, or related procedure is specified in the Airworthiness Limitations section or certification maintenance requirements of the manufacturer’s maintenance manual or Instructions for Continued Airworthiness.

  • A Critical Component is one whose malfunction or failure to perform may cause the failure of a device or system, or may affect the effectiveness of such device or system.

  • Prior to any proposed end of life (EOL) for any Flextronics-Supplied Critical Component, Flextronics shall notify Customer in writing at least [***] months beforehand (“EOL Notice Period”).
