Common use of WorkSafe BC - Sick Leave Clause in Contracts

WorkSafe BC - Sick Leave. A regular employee prevented from performing the employee's regular work with the Employer due to an occupational accident or illness arising out of their employment with the school district that is recognized by WorkSafe BC as compensable within the meaning of the Act, shall have deductions of that portion of the pay not paid by WorkSafe BC made from the employee's sick leave entitlement for each day the employee is entitled to WorkSafe BC compensation, to a maximum of eight percent (8%) of their salary, provided the employee has the requisite number of sick leave days left to their credit, for a maximum of one (1) year.
