Common use of Vacation Preference Clause in Contracts

Vacation Preference. (a) Preference in the selection and allocation of vacation time shall be determined on the basis of service seniority in each work unit. Where an Employee chooses to split his/her vacation, his/her second choice of vacation time shall be made only after all other Employees concerned have made their initial selection. (b) Regular vacations shall have priority over banked vacation time during the prime time vacation period. (c) Regular Employees on an approved leave of absence greater than thirty (30) days at the time vacation schedules are circulated will be notified in writing. Within two (2) weeks, the Employee will then advise the Employer in writing of his/her vacation preference for the current calendar year.
