Vacancies Within the Bargaining Unit. A. Employees are encouraged to seek out new job opportunities for which they are qualified. The growth and potential promotion of existing employees is preferential to applicants not currently employed. B. Internal applicants who meet the job qualifications as posted will be interviewed prior to external postings. If not selected for the position, the internal candidate can request a meeting with the hiring authority and/or supervisor to gain specific reasons for not being selected for the position. C. If performance is satisfactory and qualifications of internal candidates are equal, except in seniority, the employee having the most seniority will be given preference as the most qualified.
