Common use of Use of Partially Constructed Roads Clause in Contracts

Use of Partially Constructed Roads. Unless Contracting Officer determines that there is jus- tification under existing conditions, and ground condi- tions permit hauling without undue damage, portions of Specified Roads shall be Substantially Completed prior to their use for hauling timber. When necessary to facil- itate construction and protect bridges and roads from damage, timber felled in construction and timber logged directly to the road from areas immediately adjacent thereto may be hauled before road construction is Sub- stantially Completed. Such hauling shall be confined to periods when abnormal soil erosion and damage to Na- tional Forest lands will not result.
