Common use of Union Committee Persons and Stewards Clause in Contracts

Union Committee Persons and Stewards. The Union shall elect up to two (2) members of the bargaining unit who shall function as the Union Bargaining Committee and representatives of the employees in all matters pertaining to this collective agreement. One of the three representatives so elected shall be the bargaining unit Chairperson. It is understood that when processing grievances, no more than a total of one Committee member or xxxxxxx shall meet with the Employer at any one time, except for Step 2 when a total of two Union Committee representatives (Union Committee members and/or stewards combined) may meet with the Employer.

If neither xxxxxxx is available, the meeting will be postponed, whenever possible, until one is available. It is understood that when processing grievances, no more than a total of one Committee member or xxxxxxx shall meet with the Employer at any one time, except for Step 2 when a total of two Union Committee representatives (Union Committee members and/or stewards combined) may meet with the Employerwhere necessary to ensure equal representation.
