Travel or Study Leave. When a leave has been granted for an appointed teacher for travel or study, the absence shall not be construed as a break in service so far as seniority is concerned, and the position shall be held open as provided by Board Rule 4-15(b).

  • Study Leave Credits for study leave will be given for educational commitments falling due between an employee's nominated starting and finishing times.

  • Volunteer Firefighting Leave Leave without pay will be granted when an employee who is a volunteer firefighter is called to duty to respond to a fire, natural disaster or medical emergency.

  • Subpoena Leave Each Faculty Member shall be granted leave at full pay when subpoenaed as a witness, other than as a defendant or plaintiff, in a criminal or civil trial which has resulted directly from an incident which took place during any District sponsored activity including all class and laboratory sessions, Associated Student Body sponsored events, Athletic contests or required meetings held either on or off the college's campuses. Such leave shall be restricted to personal appearance under a subpoena issued by a court of competent jurisdiction, and only in matters as defined above. All leave for appearances as a witness other than those described above shall be granted only under the provisions of Section 11.4 Personal Necessity Leave, or, with the approval of the appropriate Vice President as unpaid leave.

  • Volunteer Leave 37.01 Subject to operational requirements as determined by the Employer and with an advance notice of at least five (5) working days, the employee shall be granted, in each fiscal year, one (1) day of leave with pay to work as a volunteer for a charitable or community organisation or activity, other than for activities related to the Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign. The leave will be scheduled at times convenient to both the employee and the Employer. Nevertheless, the Employer shall make every reasonable effort to grant the leave at such times as the employee may request.

  • Leave of Absence for Union Business (a) The Employer shall grant leaves of absence to employees to attend Union Conventions, negotiations of the Collective Agreement with the Employer and other Union business.   • Reservist Leave If an employee is a reservist in the Canadian Armed Forces they will be entitled to reservist leave in accordance with the ESA and while on such leave the employee will retain their accrued seniority.
