The Shift Switches clause establishes the rules and procedures for employees to exchange or swap their scheduled work shifts with one another. Shift Switches. Employees may switch shifts, within a pay period, with the approval of the Jail Administrator or designee. Shift switch requests will be in writing. This Article shall have no effect on overtime. Once a shift switch is agreed to by both affected parties, the hours agreed to be covered shall be treated the same as the employee’s regularly scheduled work time.
Shift Switches. 17.01 The Company agrees to provide a system for employees to switch shifts, providing two (2) employees are within the same job classification on different shifts. The employees switching shifts must be able to satisfactorily perform the job of the employee with whom they switched. Employees wishing to switch shifts will complete the appropriate form at least two (2) weeks prior to the date of the shift switch; exceptions may be made in cases of a bona-fide emergency.All forms are to be submitted directly to Human Resources with a copy to the Plant Chairperson. The form will be posted on the job posting board for a period of three (3) days. Employees wishing to switch shifts must place their name on that form in order to be considered for the

A – Temporary shift switches
Shift Switches. 02.01 Shift switches are subject to the following conditions:
Shift Switches. The Company agrees to provide a system for employees to switch shifts, providing two (2) employees are within the same job classification on different shifts. The employees switching shifts must be able to satisfactorily perform the job of the employee with whom they switched. Employees wishing to switch shifts will complete the appropriate form at least two (2) weeks prior to the date of the shift switch, exceptions may be made in cases of a bona- fide emergency. All forms are to be submitted to the employee’s direct Supervisor. All shift switches must have Management’s written approval prior to commencing and if for any reason, either employee cannot satisfactorily perform the required work, the shift switch will be cancelled.

Without exception, all switches must occur within the same work week in order to avoid overtime. When an employee does not fulfill their portion of an approved switch, or any portion thereof, regardless of circumstances or medical verification, said employee will be banned from switches for the next 90 days.

Employees wishing to switch shifts will complete the appropriate form at least (2) weeks prior to the date of the shift switch, exceptions may be made in cases of a bona-fide emergency. All forms are to be submitted to the employee's direct Supervisor and Human Resources with a copy to the plant chairperson, The form will be posted on the job posting board for a period of three days. Employees wishing to switch shifts must place their name on that form in order to be considered for the switch. The employee on the list with the most seniority will be chosen to switch. All shift switches must have management's written approval prior to commencing and if for any reason, either employee cannot satisfactorily perform the required work, the shift switch will be canceled. The switch is void if either party decides to return to previous shift or is a successful applicant in a job posting.
