Common use of Shift Differential Clause in Contracts

Shift Differential. Nurses assigned to work the second (3-11 p.m.) shift shall be paid a shift differential of two dollars and fifty cents ($2.50) per hour over the hourly contract rates of pay. Nurses assigned to work the third (11 p.m. - 7 a.m.) shift shall be paid a shift differential of four dollars ($4.00) per hour over the hourly contract rates of pay.
