Common use of Shift Break Clause in Contracts

Shift Break. It is intended that every employee shall have a full shift break between shifts. In the event that an employee is recalled to work before such shift break has elapsed, he shall be considered as still working on his previous shift and shall be paid the appropriate overtime rates for work performed after recall. No employee shall be permitted to resume work of his own accord until a full shift break has elapsed.
