Shift Break Sample Clauses

A Shift Break clause defines the rules and entitlements regarding breaks during an employee's work shift. Typically, it specifies the duration and timing of rest or meal breaks, such as requiring a 30-minute unpaid lunch break for shifts exceeding a certain number of hours. This clause ensures employees have adequate rest periods during work, promoting health and productivity while also helping employers comply with labor regulations.
Shift Break. It is intended that every employee shall have a full shift break between shifts. In the event that an employee is recalled to work before such shift break has elapsed, he shall be considered as still working on his previous shift and shall be paid the appropriate overtime rates for work performed after recall. No employee shall be permitted to resume work of his own accord until a full shift break has elapsed.
Shift Break. On overtime work consisting of eight (8) hours or more or a combination of overtime and straight time consisting of eight (8) hours or more, straight time may not be reverted to without an eight (8) hour break.
Shift Break. All employeeswork schedules shall provide for a fifteen (15) minute rest period during each one-half shift. The rest period shall be at the middle of each one-half shift, whenever this is feasible. Employees, who for any reason work beyond their regular quitting time into the next shift, shall receive a fifteen (15) minute rest period before they start on such next shift. In addition, they shall be granted the regular rest periods that occur during the shift.

There will be a one-half (1/2) hour lunch break, on employers time, after twelve (12) hours, if shift continues. Pay will be at straight time for one-half (1/2) hour lunch break.
Shift Break. If shifts are scheduled so that there is not a period of at least fifteen (15) hours and forty-five (45) minutes between the end of one work period and the beginning of the next, overtime rates will apply to hours worked on the succeeding work period within the twenty-four (24) hour period.
Shift Break. Employees must have a minimum break of 10 hours from the time they complete one shift and the time they start the next shift. If an employee needs to take time off that they would normally be working to take this break then they will not lose pay for that time off work. If Downer requires the employee to start working before they are able to take the ten hour break, then the employee will be paid at double time for all of the time they work until they are able to take the ten hour break. These hours will count towards ordinary hours for the purpose of accruals.
Shift Break. ELL para-educators shall be provided with a fifteen- (15) minute rest period during each shift of at least four hours. The rest period shall be at the middle of the four-hour shift, whenever this is feasible.
Shift Break. Shift workers, shall be allowed 30 minutes for a shift break during each full shift, to be taken by the employee at such time and in such manner as will not interfere with continuity of work where continuity is necessary. No deduction shall be made from the wages of an employee for a meal break.
Shift Break. An employee shall wherever practicable, have at least ten hours free from duty between the completion of one rostered shift and the commencement of the next rostered shift. If on the instructions of the employer, such an employee resumes or continues work without having had such ten consecutive hours off duty, double rates shall be paid until such period off duty is provided without loss of ordinary pay for such time off. This subclause shall not apply where an employee resumes or continues work as agreed between the employee and the employer or between the employee and another employee.
