Serious Illness or Injury. Unit employees who are incapacitated due to serious illness or injury while on vacation leave shall have such time charged against sick leave when they promptly notify their supervisor and substantiate such request upon return to work from sick leave.

Serious Illness or Injury. An injury or illness incurred by a service member in the line of duty while on active duty in the United States Armed Forces that causes the service member to be medically unfit to perform the duties of the service member’s office, grade, rank or rating.
