Common use of Salary Placement Clause in Contracts

Salary Placement. When an employee is promoted, he/she shall be assigned to the step in the new range which gives him/her an increment of at least four percent (4%) above his/her present salary within the current salary schedule except that the employee may be placed on the last step on the appropriate range if that is the maximum allowable for that class. Such placement may result in less than four percent (4%) raise.
