Review of Employment Model for Teachers. Rationale Under the current employment model for teachers in Northern Ireland the Board of Governors is responsible for determining the complement of teaching posts in the school. With over 1100 schools and an ever-changing level of demand for teachers at individual school level due to rising/falling pupil numbers, curriculum changes, school development/planning priorities and school establishment/closures there is a need for a more flexible employment model which would provide scope for a more consistent, timely and flexible redeployment of teachers from school to school. Flexibility in the employment of teachers in response to changing circumstances, inclusive of curricular and personnel demands, will require careful and collaborative design and a re-examination of the existing part-time and job sharing arrangements.   • Continuity of Employment This Option shall not be exercisable by the Grantee in any part unless at all times beginning with the date of grant and ending no more than three (3) months prior to the date of exercise, the Grantee has, except for military service leave, sick leave or other bona fide leave of absence (such as temporary employment by the United States Government) been in the continuous employ of the Company or a parent or subsidiary thereof, except that such period of three (3) months shall be one (1) year following any termination of the Grantee's employment by reason of his permanent and total disability.

The Local union and Local school board agree to continue to cooperate in the implementation and administration of early intervention and safe return to work processes as a component of the Short-Term Leave and Long-Term Disability Plans. In the event the Employee exhausts his/her sick/short-term disability leave allocation from the previous year and continues to work part-time, their salary will be reduced accordingly and a pro-rated sick/short-term allocation for the employee’s working portion of the current year will be provided. The new pro-rated sick/short-term leave allocation may not be used to top-up from part-time to full-time hours. Any changes to hours of work during a fiscal year shall result in an adjustment to the allocation.

  • DISCIPLINE OF EMPLOYEES Section 1.
