Common use of Rest Interval After Overtime Clause in Contracts

Rest Interval After Overtime. (i) An employee who has worked overtime shall return to work, after eight (8) hours’ rest, but only if the employee can do so by the mid-point of his/her regular shift unless he/she will report earlier by mutual agreement. Whether or not the employee does report to work he/she shall nevertheless be paid for the regular shift following the overtime at his/her normal straight-time rate.
