Replacement Staffing. The hospital shall maintain, post and utilize a list of nursing staff described below that may be contacted to provide qualified replacement or additional nursing staff in the event of unexpected staff shortages. This list will be available to the individual(s) responsible for obtaining replacement staff during each shift. The OSH shall solicit volunteers to work additional hours in the following order, before requiring an employee to work mandatory overtime: A) Temporaries, Float Pool, or on call B) On duty volunteers C) Off duty Volunteers D) Agency Nurses Employees working voluntary overtime will not displace regularly assigned employees on their units and/or shifts, unless operational needs require such change. Management has the right not to accept volunteers for partial shifts; however, nurses may agree to voluntarily split an entire shift.
