Reduction in Force List. Within fifteen (15) days after the Board sends out suspension notices, it shall prepare, post and send to the Association President a Reduction in Force List. The Reduction in Force List shall state:
Reduction in Force List. Employees selected for suspension of contract shall immediately be placed upon a Reduction in Force (RIF) list compiled from the seniority lists provided in Section 1.03 I. Employees non-renewed for performance reasons shall not appear on this list. An employee whose name appears on the RIF list shall be offered re- employment when a position becomes available for which he/she is certified. Employees on the RIF list shall be offered re-employment to positions for which he/she is certified based on OTES evaluation, if evaluations are comparable then in the order of seniority at the time he/she is suspended. No new employees shall be employed by the Board while there are employees on the RIF list who are certified for any opening of a teaching position.
Reduction in Force List. 1. The teacher selected for suspension of contracts shall immediately be placed upon a R.I.F. compiled from the seniority lists provided for in Section 1.03-H. A teacher whose name appears on the R.I.F. list shall be offered re- employment when a position becomes available for which he or she is certified. No new teachers will be employed by the Board while there are teachers on the recall list who are certificated/licensed for the vacancy.

  • REDUCTION IN FORCE It is understood and agreed that in addition to the above designated and related duties, full-time professional staff shall participate fully in the activities of institutional councils and/or committees.   • Reduction in Force Procedure Should a situation arise which could result in a layoff of Faculty Members, the District shall provide the Federation with a written statement of the basis for the decision with supporting data and projected reductions that may be needed.   • Demotion in Lieu of Layoff The appointing authority shall determine by class, subject to review by the Director, whether demotion shall be afforded employees as an option in lieu of layoff. At the request of the appointing authority, a permanent employee shall, in lieu of layoff, be afforded the option of demotion within the same department to a position in a lower class, provided that no such demotion shall in turn require the layoff or demotion from such lower class of any employee whose layoff rating is at least as high as that of the demoting employee. A probationary employee may be afforded the opportunity to accept a demotion within the same department to a position in a lower class provided no such demotion shall in turn require the layoff of any employee in the lower class. Such probationer shall not become permanent in the lower class by this action except by completing a new full probation period in such lower class.

  • SENIORITY AND REDUCTION IN FORCE Section 1. Whenever a classified position is abolished, or a reduction in force becomes necessary, or an employee is laid off to create a vacancy for an employee moving from a higher classification, layoff shall be in reverse order of continuous service with the City.

  • Reduction in Hours Any reduction in regularly assigned time shall be considered a layoff under the provisions of this Article.
