Common use of Rate of Pay on Promotion Clause in Contracts

Rate of Pay on Promotion. When an employee is promoted to a higher paying position, the employee will receive the rate of pay which is the next highest rate in the new scale. When an employee is promoted the date of such change will alter the increment date. However, should the increase in salary be less than the value of an increment on the scale from which the employee has moved, the increment date will not change.
