Purpose of Procedure. The purpose of this procedure is to establish a promotion system for personnel of the Antrim County Sheriff’s Department as directed and approved by the Sheriff. The Sheriff shall determine the duties of all positions subject to this procedure. The employer, in its sole discretion, shall determine whether a vacancy does or does not exist. The promotion procedure shall be to a position above the rank of certified corrections officer within their respective division. This procedure shall not apply to job advancements or transfers between divisions.
