Common use of PTO Requests Clause in Contracts

PTO Requests. The process and parameters for requesting PTO will be governed by PTO guidelines in place for the applicable unit or department and incorporate the provisions outlined in this Article. 1. All requests for PTO may be submitted up to one (1) year in advance. 2. Such requests will be granted based on the date the request was submitted, provided the skills and abilities of the employee are not significant factors as determined by the Employer 3. Employees will not be required to have accrued all the PTO they are requesting at the time of approval provided the employee seeking time off is expected to have sufficient PTO to cover the requested time. If a situations arises that prevents the employee from having all the PTO for their approved time off request, the employee shall notify the manager and meet with the manager, to discuss their time off, prior to the posting of the schedule in which the time off occurs. If, prior to the posting of the schedule in which the time off occurs, the employee does not have sufficient PTO to cover the time off, the manager may rescind the employee’s time off request. However, the time off may be permitted at the employer’s sole discretion. 4. Employees will be notified whether requested PTO is approved within 30 days of the request.
