Common use of Planned Overtime Clause in Contracts

Planned Overtime. The group concerned will be assigned to planned overtime first, beginning with the lowest qualified ML4 and continuing as above until all personnel in the group have been assigned. When additional personnel are required, they will be assigned from the Central Maintenance group by assigning the lowest qualified employee first, and so on until the job is properly staffed. When out-of-classification work in the Automotive Shop must be offered to mechanics, and it is known by 2:00 p.m. the day before the work is assigned, the Company agrees to offer the work to the junior qualified employee(s) at the time the work is offered. There may be some instances when special skills are involved and would preclude following this procedure. Such cases will be discussed with appropriate Union Officials. It is understood and agreed that this arrangement will not be extended to other jobs or work assignments.
