Permanent Employees Absent Because of Sickness. or Accident If a permanent employee is absent because of sickness or accident for a total of thirteen (13) consecutive pay periods or less, they shall not lose any vacation entitlement. If a permanent employee is absent because of sickness or accident for a total of more than thirteen (13) consecutive pay periods, they will cease to earn vacation credits commencing the (fourteenth) 14th pay period and continuing until they return to work. If a permanent employee is unable to take the vacation to which they are entitled because of sickness or accident they shall be allowed to carry over their entitlement to the following or succeeding years.
