Outdoor Lighting. All outdoor lighting must be of an appropriate arrangement and intensity that does not unduly interfere with the adjacent land uses or interfere with the safe operation of nearby roadways and traffic control devices.

Storefronts should be illuminated allowing light to spill onto adjacent walkways and spaces. Wall-mounted light fixtures have the ability to highlight architectural elements and enliven facades while illuminating public areas adjacent to the building. Outdoor seating areas should be illuminated using pedestrian level lighting at comfortable illumination levels. Utilizing pole-mounted fixtures and lit bollards to illuminate Walkways is also an effective approach to defining the pedestrian zone and surrounding areas. Lighting fixtures should conceal the light source and provide diffused or soft reflected light.

Outdoor Lighting. 3.8.1 Outdoor lighting shall be subject to the requirements of the applicable Land Use By-law and the following additional requirements:
Outdoor Lighting. In order to minimize sky glow or light pollution originating on the Protected Property, any outdoor light fixtures must minimize light emitted above the plane of the horizon of such fixtures through the use of earthward directed or full cut-off fixtures or lamps with single or minimal-color light sources, or other equally effective fixtures designed to minimize light pollution.
Outdoor Lighting. All outdoor lighting shall be fully shielded light fixtures or full cutoff light fixtures and be designed, arranged and screened so that the point light source shall not be visible from adjoining lots or streets and shall be oriented such that light is directed towards the property and does not trespass onto surrounding properties. All outdoor lighting shall be arranged so as to reflect the illumination away from any residentially zoned property. All outdoor lighting shall be placed, masked or otherwise arranged such that illumination or glare shall not create a hazard to motorists on any street, alley or other public way. Lights affixed to a pole shall be mounted no higher than 40% of the distance from the front property line to the main structure. Attached as Exhibit “D” are the definitions of the words, terms and phrases used in this section.
