Common use of Notice of Nonrenewal Clause in Contracts

Notice of Nonrenewal. Whenever a recommendation for nonrenewal of a teacher’s contract is to be made, the Principal/Superintendent shall notify the teacher and give him/her the written reason(s) for said nonrenewal recommendation no less than twenty (20) days prior to any official Board action on the bargaining unit member’s contract but no later than June 1. The affected teacher shall have representation present at this conference.

The affected teacher shall have representation present at this conference. Board action on the recommendation for nonrenewal shall be taken by June 1 in accordance with ORC 3319.11.
