Common use of Minimum Reporting Pay Clause in Contracts

Minimum Reporting Pay. 8.01 An employee who is scheduled to work and reports for work in the normal manner, or is called in to work a vacant shift, and is notified upon arrival that no work is available, shall receive a minimum of four (4) hours of pay. The Employer at its discretion may require an employee to stay and complete reasonable duties as assigned for the duration of the four (4) hours. 8.02 The provisions of this Article shall not apply in the case of emergency such as fire or power shortage, which disrupts the operation of the home, nor shall it apply to an employee returning without notice from a long term absence who has not kept the Employer informed of her current address or telephone number. 8.03 The parties agree that any mandatory educational in-service for which employees are required to attend, the employees shall be paid no less than three (3) hours of straight time wages. The Employer shall endeavour to maintain staffing coverage when employees are required to attend an in-service during the hours of their shift.
