Common use of Mandatory Standby Clause in Contracts

Mandatory Standby. The Company will determine the number and location of employees required for standby. Employees when required to be on standby will be paid one (1) hour of their basic wages, at one and one-half (1-1/2) times that rate, for each eight (8) hours of standby coverage. They will be required to carry a communications device and respond promptly.
