LEARNING within the SPS. BACKGROUND AND INTRODUCTION As an agency of the Scottish Government, the SPS works closely with Justice Service colleagues; Education Scotland; Creative Scotland; Scottish Qualifications Authority; Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) and Scotland's College Network to ensure a strategic approach to SPS’s educational ambitions for those in custody. The SPS seek to consistently work towards the realisation of the Scottish Government strategic ambitions as detailed within key documents such as Adult Learners Statement of Ambition, Adult Literacy and Numeracy in Xxxxxxxx 0000 and Curriculum for Excellence. A full list of documents relevant to the delivery of prison-based learning and skills is provided within the Learning and Skills Strategy (SPS Learning & Skills Strategy 2016-2021). The key objectives of these Scottish Government Policies have also been incorporated within the vision of the SPS Learning & Skills Strategy and its five strategic themes. The SPS’s approach is also consistent with the Council of Europe recommendations that prison education seeks to address the needs of the whole person. The SPS Learning & Skills Strategy is a 5 year programme (2016-21) illustrating the SPS vision for custodial education and detailing key issues and outcomes. The Service Provider’s delivery of the Services will play a significant role in assisting SPS achieving the aims and objectives of the strategy.

Collaborates with Nurse Educators and line managers to identify staff training needs and to develop an educational plan to address these needs. Assists in the orientation and preceptor ship of new nurses and student nurses. Provides clinical guidance and mentoring to nursing and allied health colleagues. Teaching sessions are provided for health care providers e.g. general practitioners, practice nurses, staff in rural areas etc, as relevant to area of speciality. Education programmes are developed for patients/consumers to assist them to achieve their best clinical outcomes. This may include health promotion / wellness activities. Assists in the compilation of resource material for educational purposes for patients/consumer, families and healthcare professionals updating as required, to promote the sharing of current evidence-based information. Research Promotes quality nursing care through research-based practice Relevant nursing and related research is read, critiqued and discussed as a means of supporting the development of quality nursing practice. Participates in conferences relevant to area of speciality, as agreed line manager. Patients/consumer research which challenges practice at local and national forums. Information is communicated to staff within Southern DHB, to maximise the benefit for the patient/consumer and organisation. Research Role models the application of evidence based best practice principles in own practice, and assist others in research related activities. Demonstrates ability to interpret and implement research findings relevant to area of speciality practice. Provides research based clinical management options for complex clinical situations / issues. There is evidence of staff participation in research related activities where appropriate and authorised.

  • Opening with Mutual Agreement 2.7.1 The Association and TEBA may at any time by mutual agreement negotiate revisions to the central matters contained in this collective agreement. Any such revisions shall become effective from such date as shall be mutually agreed upon by the Association and TEBA.

  • Compensation for Holidays Falling Within Vacation Schedule If a paid holiday falls on or is observed during an employee's vacation period, he/she shall be allowed an additional vacation day with pay at a time mutually agreed upon by the Employer and employee.

  • PROCEDURE FOR GRIEVANCES AFFECTING A GROUP OF EMPLOYEES The Union may elect to file a grievance on behalf of two or more employees. The facts and issues of the grievance must be the same.

  • Unbroken Vacation Except during the period of time referred to in Article 17.06, where operational requirements permit, the Employer shall make every reasonable effort to grant to an Employee her request to enjoy her vacation entitlement in a single unbroken period of leave.

  • Effective January A member who is medically unfit for duty at the time commencement scheduled vacation as a result of an injury or illness 1) compensable under the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act and in receipt of benefits from the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board or 2) for which medical documentationhas been provided and which has resulted in an approved medical leave or unfit for regular duties each for days or more, shall be entitled to reschedule his vacation, provided the vacation as rescheduled is taken before December of the calendar year in which the injury occurred, or December of that year if approved by the Chief of Police, such approval not to be unreasonably withheld. If the member remains medically unfit for duty such that the rescheduled time is not taken by December as aforesaid, the member shall be entitled to choose to either (1) receive in the first pay period of the following calendar year an equal to the salary he would normally receive in respect of the vacation time not taken or (2) carry over the vacation to the following year, to be scheduled as approved by the or his designate. In the event that the member chooses to carry over the vacation to the following year, the time must be taken prior to the end of the following calendar year. In the event that the carried-over is not taken prior to the end of the following calendar year, the member shall receive a payout at the salary rate applicable when the vacation time was earned. It is understood and agreed that regardless of seniority, no scheduling of any carried over vacation time will result in any member's scheduled vacation being cancelled or bumped. A member who is on suspension, either paid or unpaid, at the time of the commencement of his scheduled vacation, shall not be required to report in for the period of his scheduled vacation. A member who is on suspension, either paid or unpaid, and who has not scheduled his vacation for the year shall do so as soon as requested and, once such vacation time is approved, shall not be required to report in during the scheduled vacation time.

  • Change in Form of Business Organization If, during the term of this Agreement, the form of CONTRACTOR’s business organization changes, or the ownership of CONTRACTOR changes, or when changes occur between CONTRACTOR and other businesses that could impact services provided through this Agreement, CONTRACTOR shall promptly notify ADMINISTRATOR, in writing, detailing such changes. A change in the form of business organization may, at COUNTY’s sole discretion, be treated as an attempted assignment of rights or delegation of duties of this Agreement.
