Common use of Holiday Worked/Deferred Clause in Contracts

Holiday Worked/Deferred. In addition to holiday pay, any non-exempt employee shall be paid the overtime rate for any holiday actually worked, with the exception of the day after Thanksgiving. However, if an employee is scheduled to work on a holiday, that employee will be permitted to defer the holiday with regular pay until a later date. An employee under this section can accumulate no more than five deferred holidays.
