Common use of GRIEVANCE RELEASE TIME Clause in Contracts

GRIEVANCE RELEASE TIME. Prior to any proposed investigation of a grievance, stewards shall obtain permission from their and the grievant’s supervisor, which will be granted unless the xxxxxxx or the grievant is working on something that requires immediate attention. If permission cannot be immediately granted, the Employer will arrange to allow investigation of the grievance at the earliest possible time. When it is necessary for stewards to conduct Union business authorized by this Agreement in an area or on a shift other than their own, they shall notify the supervisor of that area or shift of their presence and of the nature of their business. No compensation shall be provided by the Employer for such xxxxxxx activities outside the employee’s work shift.
