Extended Leave Coverage. When and employee (SSA) is on extended leave from work and the absence extends beyond ten (10) work days, the Director/Supervisor shall ask for volunteers to cover the critical job functions/cases of the absent SSA through a complete departmental email. If there are no volunteers, the Director/Supervisor shall assign another employee. The Director/Supervisor shall consider the following preferences when making this assignment: Mentor SSAs first, then any SSA who has less than a full caseload, and then any SSA. The process outlined above will be followed for any open caseload not then-currently assigned to an SSA.
