EMPLOYEES’ RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES. A. Pursuant to the Michigan Public Employment Relations Act (“PERA”, MCL 423.201 et seq.)., the Employer hereby agrees that every employee, as set forth in Article I, Section A., shall have the right freely to organize, join and support the Association for the purpose of engaging in collective bargaining and/or other activities covered under the Public Employee Relations Act. As a duly elected body exercising governmental power under the law of the State of Michigan, the Employer undertakes and agrees that it will not directly or indirectly discourage or deprive any employee member of this unit with respect to wages, hours or any terms or conditions of employment by reason of his/her membership in the Association, his/her participation in any activities of the Association or collective professional negotiations with the Employer, or his/her institution of any grievance, complaint or proceeding under this Agreement.
