ELEMENTARY CONFERENCES. Elementary school principals will collaborate with the school's unit members before deciding when and how to conduct all-school parent conferences. Elementary school unit members who participate in all-school parent conferences after 4:00 p.m. will be compensated with an equal amount of workday hours off. If an elementary school unit member has greater than twenty-eight (28) students for the all-school parent conference, he/she will be compensated for one half (1/2) day at his/her per diem rate.
ELEMENTARY CONFERENCES. A. Elementary classroom teachers shall have at least one conference during the school year with each child’s parents. If the teacher is unable to get the parent to come in for a conference, the teacher shall refer the matter to the principal. Should both teacher and principal be unable to get the parents in for such a conference, the teacher will complete the conference form, note the parent’s unwilling- ness to come in, and file the conference form in the child’s permanent file. B. The present conference form will continue to be used for all conferences. Upon completion of a conference, this form will be placed in the child’s permanent file. C. In each elementary school, grades 1-6 shall have four half days allotted to parent conferences; kindergarten teachers shall have six half days. Kindergarten teachers will be allowed an additional two half-day conferences per year and their classes will be covered by substitute teachers. Kindergarten teachers shall have a total of eight half-days allotted for conferences. These days shall be scheduled by the Assistant Superintendent, Instruction. Every effort will be made to schedule these conferences during the second and third quarters of the school year. Conferences will not be scheduled on report card days or the days immediately preceding or immediately following these days. D. There will be no lunch program on these days. Pupils will be dismissed as early as possible to provide a maximum amount of time for the writing up and participation in these conferences. E. Effective planning must occur on an ongoing weekly basis. It is expected that daily planning time will be utilized to coordinate programs when necessary. However, a single half-day monthly release time for collaborative sessions will be available for K-6 remedial reading, speech pathologists and special education teachers to discuss their students with the appropriate classroom teacher. The premise of this coordination is to provide team collaboration with regular, special education, speech and remedial teachers during the same time period. Collaboration with the classroom teachers will be done through a rotational substitute for the classroom teachers during the identified half day. Schedules for these half-day sessions will be coordinated with the building principal. At the discretion of the building principal, additional release time may be available for collaborative planning.

Afternoon conferences shall be scheduled from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. On afternoon conference days, no teacher shall be permitted to leave the school building before 3:30 p.m. 3. On evening conference days, students will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m. Teachers shall be permitted to conclude their day at 1:30 p.m. Evening conferences shall be scheduled from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Teachers shall arrive and depart for evening conferences as individual schedules require.

ELEMENTARY CONFERENCES. To be responsive to our staff and families’ needs at this time, for the 2020-21 school year elementary educators have the option of conducting conferences on six dedicated days. Conferences may be conducted the afternoons of October 12, 13 and 14, 2020 as scheduled AND/OR November 23, 24 and 25, 2020. Building Leadership Teams will help coordinate a school-based plan for conferences. For conferences that are shifted to November, educators may still also use the afternoons of October 12, 13 and 14 to connect with students and families who educators determine need the connection earlier than November. During conference afternoons, students are expected to engage in independent asynchronous learning as coordinated by teachers; teachers are not expected to lead small groups on these dates. In the event that schools have returned to in-person instruction, affected staff and students will follow current early release procedures as described in the CBA.

Middle school unit members who participate in all-school parent conferences after 4:00 p.m. will be compensated with an equal amount of workday hours off.

  • PRE-JOB CONFERENCE a) The Employer shall notify the union that a project has been awarded to the Employer following the award. Prior to the start of each project, a pre-job conference shall be held to determine all site-specific issues as outlined in the Agreement. This conference may be conducted via telephone, through a scheduled meeting or by some other practical means as agreed to by the parties. b) A copy of the pre-job conference report shall be provided to the Employer, the Union and the Job ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ (s). A copy shall also be posted on the bulletin board(s) at the jobsite.

  • Conferences At the request of the State or the Engineer, conferences shall be provided at the Engineer's office, the office of the State, or at other locations designated by the State. These conferences shall also include evaluation of the Engineer's services and work when requested by the State.

  • Professional Conferences Professional conferences are those conferences sponsored by educational organizations, institutions of higher learning, and government and industry concerning teaching, learning and educational research. When a full-time or part-time faculty member’s attendance at a professional conference conflicts with his/her regular assignment, the faculty member must submit a request for attendance to the appropriate ▇▇▇▇, Director, or Supervisor. If granted, the attendance at the conference will be considered leave with pay, and a follow-up report of the conference shall be submitted to the appropriate Supervisor.

  • SPECIAL CONFERENCES Special conferences for important matters will be arranged between the Association or individual employee and the Employer or its designated representative upon the request of either party. Such meetings shall be between at least two representatives of the Employer and at least two representatives of the Association.

  • Parent Conferences A. 1. Elementary and exceptional education schools shall be dismissed early a minimum of four (4) half days during the school year to grant teachers time for parent-teacher conferences.
