Developer Owner Sample Clauses

The 'Developer Owner' clause establishes who holds ownership rights over the work, code, or deliverables produced by a developer during a project. Typically, this clause clarifies whether the developer retains intellectual property rights or if those rights are transferred to the client or another party upon completion or payment. For example, it may specify that all software, documentation, and related materials created by the developer become the exclusive property of the client. The core function of this clause is to prevent disputes over intellectual property by clearly defining ownership, ensuring both parties understand their rights to use, modify, or distribute the developed work.
