Common use of DEDUCTIONS FOR UNAUTHORIZED ABSENCES Clause in Contracts

DEDUCTIONS FOR UNAUTHORIZED ABSENCES. Deductions for unauthorized absences will be computed on the basis of the number of contracted days and the Employee’s base salary. Additional deductions may be made for overload, special duties or extra responsibilities that were not fulfilled due to non-performance by the individual. The amount to be deducted shall be calculated based upon the portion of the assignment that was not fulfilled times the salary (including overload) for absence or the extra responsibility or extra duty. Before any deduction is made the Employee will be given, in writing, all information that forms the basis for the deduction. He/she will be given the opportunity to challenge the deduction before the appropriate administrator.
