Common use of Death in Service Clause in Contracts

Death in Service. a. In the event of the death of a teacher in the employ of the Board, the Board shall pay to the widow or widower of the deceased, or if there be no widow or widower to those relatives of the employee, if any, who are directly dependent on the employee's salary for their livelihood, the salary for the days taught in the month in which the employee died, plus one additional month's salary.
