Criteria and Procedure. Subject to its reasonable operating needs and priorities, the Employer shall make a reasonable good faith effort to grant an application for leave of absence without pay not to exceed six (6) calendar months. Such leave shall not be approved for an employee for the purpose of accepting employment outside the service of the Employer; and proof that the employee has accepted employment or entered into business may be accepted by the Employer as a resignation.
