Compute Plane Sample Clauses

Compute Plane. ‌ The compute plane in a continuum compute platform is used to run user workloads across hetero- geneous resources, including Cloud, High-Performance Computing (HPC), and Edge environments. The compute plane represents a resource orchestration platform that is able to run containerized jobs across a number of physical systems. In our case we consider Kubernetes as the resource orches- trator and expand it with KubeEdge to be able to manage autonomous edge devices. The compute plane utilizes Prometheus to gather metrics from devices as well as through Kubernetes/KubeEdge interfaces. The compute plane architecture may encompass various types of nodes within the compute con- tinuum, however, all nodes of the continuum have a monitoring stack that captures node-local data and makes it available for metrics storage via Prometheus exporters (see Section 7.4.1). The Kubelet component of Kubernetes is also deployed on all nodes, except for the Edge Nodes, which use EdgeCore (a KubeEdge component) instead. The Cloud acts as the central component, connecting HPC and Edge environments. Cloud Master Nodes run Kubernetes Control Plane with KubeAPI and etcd. The KubeAPI receives requests from the DECICE Control Manager and sends scheduling requests to Platform-Specific Glue Code (Wrapper), which is handled by the DECICE framework. KubeEdge CloudCore exposes an endpoint that is reachable from the Edge Nodes. Edge Nodes do not have to expose an endpoint to be able to communicate with the main cluster, instead they regularly send requests to the CloudCore endpoint to receive new tasks. KubeEdge EdgeCore is capable of autonomous operation of edge devices, even during disconnections from the Cloud, while CloudCore ensures that the main cluster does not try to reschedule workloads running on an edge, which has temporarily been disconnected. In the Cloud, there are Cloud Worker Nodes that are part of the cloud infrastructure. In the HPC environment, a Kubernetes stack is run on each node, and HPC Nodes are potentially equipped with accelerators such as GPUs. In many HPC systems, the nodes do not have direct internet access and rely on a proxy on the frontend nodes to access the internet in order to reduce the attack surface and potential for malicious usage. This is considered in the design as care has to be taken to enable the master nodes to use the proxy to communicate with the Kublets running on the HPC nodes. Furthermore, the proxy is also used for communicating monitorin...

  • For Lump Sum Change Order The payment and extension of time (if any) provided by this Change Order constitutes compensation in full to the Contractor and its Subcontractors and Suppliers for all costs and markups directly and indirectly attributable to the Change Order herein, for all delays related thereto and for performance of changes within the time stated.

  • Contact Tracing While the employees are on the job site, Producers may require that employees participate in systems that enable contact tracing, such as use of a “punch card” system to record the employee’s location throughout the day or by means of electronic devices (e.g., phone “apps” or wearable electronic devices that track the movement or location of a person or which detect when a person wearing the device comes into close contact with another person wearing the device). Producers may require employees to sign documentation consenting to the use of such electronic devices in contact tracing. In the event that a Producer uses electronic devices for contact tracing, it may access information collected from those devices only for purposes of tracing individuals that the employee has been in contact with during working hours when there has been a COVID- 19-related event, or for purposes of managing and enforcing social distancing protocols.

  • CHANGE IN CLASSIFICATION SPECIFICATIONS Section 1. The Employer shall notify the Union of intended classification studies.

  • Leave for Writing Examinations Leave of absence with pay shall be granted to allow employees time to write examinations for courses approved by the Employer. Employees shall advise the Employer of the time and place of the examination when they are made aware of the time and place.

  • Contract Term Adjustment “Contract Term Adjustment” means adjustment only as provided for in the three circumstances described in this Subsection. Under these circumstances, the contract term shall be adjusted in writing to include additional calendar days in one or more Normal Operating Seasons equal to the actual time lost, except as limited by paragraph (b) in this Subsection. To qualify for such adjustment, Purchaser shall give written notice of the lost time not later than 30 days after end of Normal Operating Season in which time was lost and at least 10 days before Termination Date. Contracting Officer shall make prompt written acknowledgment of such notice, indicating concurrence with the number of days in the notice or the number of days Forest Service considers as qualifying for the adjustment. Lost portions of days shall be disregarded in computing time lost. The three circumstances qualifying for a Contract Term Adjustment are:

  • Proposing Integration Activities in the Planning Submission No integration activity described in section 6.3 may be proposed in a CAPS unless the LHIN has consented, in writing, to its inclusion pursuant to the process set out in section 6.3(b).

  • Follow-up Testing An employee shall submit to unscheduled follow-up drug and/or alcohol testing if, within the previous 24-month period, the employee voluntarily disclosed drug or alcohol problems, entered into or completed a rehabilitation program for drug or alcohol abuse, failed or refused a preappointment drug test, or was disciplined for violating the provisions of this Agreement and Employer work rules. The Employer may require an employee who is subject to follow-up testing to submit to no more than six unscheduled drug or alcohol tests within any 12 month period.

  • Log and Load Reporting Service This contract may at the States discretion, require the services of a State approved third party log and load reporting service. Purchaser shall ensure log volume measurement, weight, or scale and weight data for each load is received by the log and load reporting service within 1 business day of logs being measured or weighed. If during the term of this contract, the State discontinues use of the Log and Load Reporting Service, the State will notify the Purchaser in writing, and will approve an alternative log and load reporting process. L-080 Scaling Rules Determination of volume and grade of any forest products shall be conducted by a state approved third party scaling organization and in accordance with the Westside log scaling and grading rules and Xxxxxxxx Volume Table, revised July 1, 1972, contained in the Northwest Log Rules Eastside and Westside Log Scaling Handbook (developed and produced by the Northwest Log Rules Advisory Group) and in effect on the date of confirmation of this contract. Special scaling specifications shall be noted on the State’s Brand Designation form which is hereby incorporated to this contract by reference. X-000 Xxxxx Xxxxxxxx of Log Scaling and Weighing Locations Forest Product measurement and weighing facilities required by this contract must be approved by the State. Forest products sold under the contract which require log scaling shall be scaled, measured, or counted by a State approved third party log scaling organization. Forest products sold under the contract which require weighing shall be weighed at a location that meets Washington State Department of Agriculture approval. Prior to forest products being hauled, the Contract Administrator must authorize in writing the use of State approved measurement and/or weighing facilities that are at or en-route to final destinations. Forest products from this sale shall be measured or weighed at facilities, which are currently approved for use by the State and are currently authorized for this sale.
