Section 7.4.1. 28 All supplemental runs (extracurricular) shall be posted for five (5) working days, however, this 29 may be waived for unforeseen circumstances or emergency. Trip bidding will be on Friday, after 30 the morning bus run, for the next week’s trips. Trips must be posted by Thursday morning, the 31 day before bidding. In the event that a supplemental run is not filled with a regular driver, then 32 the District shall fill the need with a substitute bus driver. 34 Trips shall be awarded based on rotation. At the beginning of each school year, the rotation will 35 start with the most senior driver and then follow through a continual rotation for the rest of the 36 year. When it is a driver’s turn to bid, he/she shall choose one trip from those available for the 37 following week. The next bid day shall start with the driver who did not receive a trip on the last 38 bid day. 39 40 Trips shall be compensated at the drivers base hourly rate for the first two (2) hours of the trip 41 and at the extra-curricular sub rate for the remainder of the trip. Drivers will be reimbursed for 42 any expenditures related to the extra-curricular trip. No bus driver will be forced to take a 43 supplemental run in place of a regular route if the driver will earn less money on the 44 supplemental run. 46 Should an extra-curricular event be cancelled, the driver will be notified at least one hour prior 47 to the event. If the driver reports to work for the extra-curricular run and is not given the one (1) 1 hour notification, the driver will be compensated a minimum of one (1) hour of pay at the 2 driver’s base hourly rate.
Section 7.4.1. 12 All vacation shall be taken at a time that is approved by the District. Vacation leave requests 13 shall be mutually agreed upon with the employee’s immediate supervisor and must be 14 submitted at least two days in advance. Exceptions may be approved by the supervisor.
Section 7.4.1. 13 Each employee, other than bus drivers, who is compensated at least three and one-half (3-1/2) 14 hours per day will receive a ten (10) minute paid rest period. A second paid rest period of ten (10) 15 minutes duration will be provided each employee who is compensated seven (7) or more hours per
Section 7.4.1. 8 Employees required to work through their regular lunch periods will be given time to eat at a 9 time established by the supervisor. In the event the District requires an employee to forego a 10 lunch period and the employee works the entire shift, including the lunch period, the employee 11 shall be compensated for the foregone lunch period.
Section 7.4.1. 40 Additional hours of work shall be defined as permanent hours of work added to a position. 41 When such additional hours of work become available at an employee’s worksite.
Section 7.4.1. 7 The District will add one (1) additional day of work to the classified employees work year; the 8 week before school, with the exception of transportation staff whose additional day of work 9 will be scheduled within the first three (3) weeks before school starts. This additional workday
Section 7.4.1. 26 When a regular open bus route is posted it will be offered to regular drivers according to 27 seniority, then to substitute drivers, and finally to outside drivers.
Section 7.4.1. 2 On late-start or early dismissal days, unrelated to inclement weather, classified personnel shall 3 work their assigned schedule and perform duties consistent with their regular rate of pay. If 4 requested by the employee and approved in advance, unpaid leave may be granted to allow an 5 employee to work only those hours of their assigned schedule that students are present without 6 the employee being required to exhaust all paid leave (Section 9.5).
Section 7.4.1. 1. 9 In addition to their assigned work schedule, special education paraeducators will be 10 provided an additional ten (10) paid hours per school year for District approved training 11 and an additional five (5) paid hours per school year for collaborative planning. Dates 12 and times for trainings and collaborative planning meetings will be provided as far in 13 advance as possible with a minimum of 48 hours’ notice.
Section 7.4.1. 19 Any shift of three (3) or more hours, but less than five (5) hours shall receive a ten (10) minute rest 20 period as near the middle of the shift as practicable. Employees working less than a three (3) hour shift 21 shall receive no rest period.
