Common use of Collaboration Days Clause in Contracts

Collaboration Days. 6.17.1 There shall be twenty-six (26) collaboration days in each school year as set forth below. a. These days shall be either a student early release or late start on Wednesday (sixty [60] minutes). b. The use of these days shall be determined by the principal after input from staff. The primary focus shall be: • the ongoing process during which unit members work collaboratively in recurring cycles of collective inquiry and action research to achieve better results for the students they serve; (1) examine student learning, and (2) determine effective teaching practices, and (3) plan for appropriate revisions for future lesson delivery; (1) develop and refine common assessments, (2) analyze student learning based on these assessments, and (3) determine interventions for students in need. • Promote teacher learning and collaboration. As necessary, the bell schedule at each school site shall be adjusted to ensure that the District provides not less than the State-mandated minutes of instruction for each grade.
