Common use of Association Representatives Clause in Contracts

Association Representatives. ‌ City employees who are official representatives of the Association shall be given reasonable time off with pay to attend meetings with management representatives, or to be present at hearings where matters within the scope of representation or grievan ces are being considered. The use of official time for this purpose shall be reasonable and shall not interfere with the performance of City services as determined by the City. Such employee representatives shall submit a written request for excused absence to their respective department heads, with an information copy to the Human Resources Director, at least two (2) working days prior to the scheduled meeting whenever possible. Except by mutual agreement, the number of employees excused for such purposes shall not exceed three (3).
