Alterations to Standard Hours of Work. (a) During the term of the Collective Agreement, should the Employer w ish to amend specific standard hours of w ork, the Employer shall discuss the matter in detail w ith the Union. The Parties to the Agreement shall meet w ith the employees affected on the Employer' s time (at a mutually agreeable time) to explain the proposal. After the explanation, the Employer' s representatives shall leave and the Union shall be given the opportunity to meet w ith the members for purposes of discussion and to conduct a secret ballot. Provided that more than 50% of the employees affected agree, the standard hours of w ork shall be amended on a trial basis until the end of the term of the Collective Agreement. " Employees affected" shall be defined as those employees directly affected in the w ork unit w ho are members of the bargaining unit. The Union and the Employer may jointly agree to end the trial on some other mutually agreeable date.
