Common use of Allocating Educational Leave Clause in Contracts

Allocating Educational Leave. Scheduling for educational leave 26 and funds will be subject to equitable rotation among RNs in a 27 department. Nurses who have been denied educational leave in 28 one instance will have priority, on an equitable basis, for scheduling 29 educational leaves for the next requested event or program. All 30 denied leave requests will be sent to the applicant with a letter of 31 explanation. If the educational leave has been denied because of 32 staffing issues and the nurse finds a replacement, educational 33 leave will not be arbitrarily denied. It is also the intent of the parties 34 that educational leave will be available to nurses on all shifts on an 35 equitable basis. 36 Nurses need to keep records of denials and make clinical 37 managers aware of their priority, upon the next educational leave 38 request, to ensure priority is given over nurses who were granted, 39 or who did not apply for, educational leave in the prior instance.
