Common use of Advanced Study Clause in Contracts

Advanced Study. Upon recommendation of the Superintendent, the Board may grant a leave of absence of one (1) year or one (1) semester, preferably the second (2nd) semester, without pay and without increment in the salary schedule, and subject to extension at the discretion of the Superintendent and Board, for advanced study as a regular full-time student in an educational institution of recognized rank.

However, a teacher shall be given a salary increment upon his/her return to duty if he/she participated while on leave as a full-time student in a government program which was given without academic credit.
