Advanced Study. Dependent upon anticipated benefits to the District, and subject to the recommendation of the superintendent and approval by the Board of Education, a leave of absence may be granted for:
Advanced Study. Upon recommendation of the Superintendent, the Board may grant a leave of absence of one (1) year or one (1) semester, preferably the second (2nd) semester, without pay and without increment in the salary schedule, and subject to extension at the discretion of the Superintendent and Board, for advanced study as a regular full-time student in an educational institution of recognized rank.
Advanced Study. Up to two (2) years for advanced study if in the opinion of the Board such study shall benefit the College as well as the individual.
Advanced Study. Teachers may be granted an unpaid leave for the purpose of graduate study at a university or college granting advanced degrees. Experience credit on the salary scale (limited to one [1] year) shall be granted if the teacher returns to the District the following year.
Advanced Study. An educator who has been employed under the terms of this Agreement by the District for three (3) continuous contract years or more immediately preceding the granting of this leave is eligible for advanced study leave for up to one (1) year. Prior to returning to employment, the educator must provide verification of advanced study by submitting to the Department of Human Resources either:
Advanced Study. The Employer may grant a leave of absence for advanced study at the undergraduate or graduate level for employees with over one (1) year of continuous service, when the Employer determines such to be of benefit to the Hospital program.
Advanced Study b. Participation in a program of exchange teaching in accordance with the conditions set forth under the provisions of 9.02.D;
Advanced Study. Upon recommendation of the Superintendent, the Board may grant a leave of absence for advanced study for one (1) year without pay or increment. Such leave must be applied for not later than July of the school year in which the leave is desired and will be subject to extension at the discretion of the Superintendent and the Board.

Advanced Study. A leave of absence without pay may be authorized for a tenured member upon application for one (1) or two (2) academic years for the purpose of (1) engaging in study at an accredited university; or (2) full-time participation in the Federally sponsored Peace Corps or Members’ Corps; or (3) full time teaching in foreign or military programs. Approval of the application will depend upon the value of the experience to not only the applicant, but to the school district as well. The applicant will be informed in writing by the Executive Director of Human Resources of the disposition of the request on or before April 15 preceding the academic year for which leave is requested. The intent of the applicant to return to the school district at the expiration of the leave shall be stated in writing.
