EXTENDED LEAVES OF ABSENCE WITHOUT PAY. 1. Unless otherwise stated herein, an extended leave of absence without pay may be granted to teachers for a period of up to one (1) year.
EXTENDED LEAVES OF ABSENCE WITHOUT PAY. A. Maternity, paternity, adoption and child rearing leave will be granted subject to the following conditions:
EXTENDED LEAVES OF ABSENCE WITHOUT PAY. The provisions of this Article are applicable to Professional Status teachers only. However, the School Committee in its discretion may apply the provisions of this Article to non-Professional Status teachers.
EXTENDED LEAVES OF ABSENCE WITHOUT PAY. A. A leave of absence without pay of up to two years may be granted to any teacher with professional teacher status who joins the Action Corps, National Teacher Corps, or serves as an exchange teacher or overseas teacher, as a full-time participant in any such program, or accepts a Fulbright Scholarship.
EXTENDED LEAVES OF ABSENCE WITHOUT PAY. In the event extended leaves are desired, these must be approved not only by the Sheriff but also by the Human Resources Director after due notice to the Union. Such leaves may be for a period of six (6) months, and during such period, the employee will continue to accumulate seniority.
EXTENDED LEAVES OF ABSENCE WITHOUT PAY. Section 1. The Committee agrees that up to three (3) teachers designated by the Association will, upon request, be granted a leave of absence for up to two (2) years without pay for the purpose of engaging in Association (local, state or national) activities. Upon return from such leave, a teacher will be considered as if he/she were actively employed by the Committee during the leave and will be placed on the salary schedule at the level he would have achieved if the teacher had not been absent.
EXTENDED LEAVES OF ABSENCE WITHOUT PAY. A. All requests for extended leaves of absence shall be submitted to the Extended Leaves Office in the Human Resources Department.
EXTENDED LEAVES OF ABSENCE WITHOUT PAY. A. A leave of absence without pay of up to one year shall be granted to any teacher who joins the Peace Corps, VISTA, National Teacher Corps, or serves as an exchange teacher or overseas teacher, and is a full-time participant in any such programs, or accepts a Fulbright Scholarship. An extension may be granted at the discretion of the Superintendent. A teacher on such leave will be advanced accordingly on the salary schedule if his activity while on such leave has relevance to the Marblehead Public Schools.
EXTENDED LEAVES OF ABSENCE WITHOUT PAY. A. All extended leaves for employees will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the Board of Education. The employee interested in obtaining an extended leave, should apply to the Board in writing. The application should be forwarded to the Office of the Superintendent of Schools no later than ninety (90) days before the employee wishes to commence his or her leave. The employee should state on the application, the date the leave is to commence, the reason for the leave and the length of the leave requested.
EXTENDED LEAVES OF ABSENCE WITHOUT PAY. Section 1. Military Leave will be granted as provided by military law. Upon returning from such leave, the employee will be placed at the job or service rate of pay, whichever is appropriate, allowing up to four years seniority. Such leave will be without pay or benefit credit.
