The perioperative services include two operating theatres, day procedure unit – 6 bays, central sterile supply department, recovery room – 4 bays and a renal dialysis suite – 7 chairs. We offer a range of surgical procedures performed by our resident and visiting surgeons, these include; general surgery, gynaecology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, urology, dental, Ear nose and throat, caesarean section and certain emergency surgeries. The appeal process for a HCV holder takes the form of an administrative hearing before an impartial hearing officer. Position Purpose. As a member of the Laboratory Services Team, the Medical Laboratory Technologist works under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager, and in coordination with the Charge Technologists, works within his/her scope of professional practice in a team environment to collect samples and is responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic tests on patient specimens, for analysing and interpreting test results and prepare reports to assist in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease. The MLT must be knowledgeable and practice in accordance with the Medical Laboratory Technology regulatory bodies including, CMLTO, Accreditation Canada Diagnostics (formerly Institute for Quality Management in Healthcare (IQMH)), and Hospital regulations and policies. In alignment with the SBGHC strategic priorities, the Laboratory Technologist may participate in user groups, and hospital-wide activities and programs and contribute to quality improvement and risk management initiatives as required. A key function will be providing key secretarial support to the Medical Director and other staff as directed. This position is responsible for supporting the Medical Director to manage their workflow and achieve their objectives, through a combination of administrative support and project work. Key Responsibilities/Skills • Preparation of correspondence, monthly reports, agendas, presentations and general documents. About the Junior Medical Workforce Austin Health is a major training service for doctors at all stages in their career and specialises in advanced vocational training in most of these specialties, with a central academic role with most Medical Colleges. Hospital Medical Officers (HMOs) are employed in four key training streams: Critical Care, General, Medical (Physician Training) and Surgical. Each training stream offers a variety of rotations across Austin Health as well as other metropolitan, regional/rural and interstate hospitals. HMOs are provided with experiences to support career development and progression towards vocation/specialty training. Austin operates an extensive network of rotations at both the pre-vocational and vocational trainee level. At the vocational level there are in excess of 450 specialty registrar positions across Austin Health covering virtually all adult specialties with the exception of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The Neurology/ABI Registrar position manages all relevant patients within the ABI and Xxxxxx units with the support of the Rehabilitation Medicine Physicians, and in doing so, ensures patient-centred, high quality, clinically appropriate care is delivered, at the right time and in the right place. The Registrar will also supervise the HMOs and the patient care provided by the HMOs. About the Rehabilitation Unit Royal Xxxxxx Rehabilitation Centre, the rehabilitation campus of Austin Health, is a specialist rehabilitation centre of international standard, providing a comprehensive and co-ordinated range of services to clients with a wide range of needs. These include inpatient, outpatient and domiciliary programs for people with spinal cord injury, acquired brain injury, amputations, multiple trauma, orthopaedic and neurological conditions.
