Aged Care Facility definition

Aged Care Facility means any house, apartment or premises, licensed or unlicensed which is used or intended to be used for the reception, care and treatment of persons who on account of age, infirmity, chronic ill health or the effects of illness from which they are convalescent, require support and care and/or supervision. Aged Care Facility also incorporates short and long term respite, and day respite.

For the avoidance of doubt Aged Care Facility includes a Retirement Living facility.

Aged Care Facility means a facility for the care of aged people providing residential care as defined by the Commonwealth Aged Care Act 1997 as amended.

Examples of Aged Care Facility in a sentence

• Leisure and Lifestyle Assistant Level 2 (Aged Care Employee - Level 4) Means a person employed in a Residential Aged Care Facility appointed to provide activities for to those residents.

• Comprehensive Aged Residents Emergency and Partners in Assessment, Care and Treatment (CARE-PACT) Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) patients through an emergency department (ED) telephone triage system are provided with onsite care by a Doctor or Nurse Practitioner, or telephone advice for RACF staff or general practitioners (GPs).
