Successor Spouse definition

Successor Spouse means, in respect of a retired Member who has a Spouse at the Member’s Retirement Date but not at the date of the Member’s death, the person who, at the date which is one (1) year prior to the date of death of such Member, meets the following eligibility requirements:

  • An eligible Employee, Member, Beneficiary, Joint Annuitant, Spouse, Successor Spouse or Child shall sign such application forms prescribed by the University and furnish proof of age and furnish such other data and sign such documents as the University deems necessary or desirable for the proper administration of the Plan or to evidence initial or continued eligibility for a benefit hereunder.

  • For the purpose of this Article, the Retirement Date of a Member’s Spouse, Successor Spouse, Children or Joint Annuitant shall be deemed to be the Retirement Date of such Member or, where the Member died prior to the Member’s Retirement Date, the date of such Member’s death.

  • If the Joint Annuitant is the Member’s Spouse or Successor Spouse, the retirement income payable to each such Spouse or Successor Spouse shall be paid during his or her lifetime.

  • Upon the death of a retired Member without a Spouse or a Successor Spouse prior to receiving sixty (60) monthly payments, the balance of such payments shall be paid to the Member’s Beneficiary.

  • The Children’s death benefit shall be payable in monthly instalments in respect of surviving Children commencing on the last day of the month in which the death of the Member, the Spouse or the Successor Spouse, whichever is applicable, occurs and shall be paid in respect of each such Child until the youngest surviving Child ceases to be so designated.

  • primary beneficiary means the individual for whose primary benefit the trust is then held. For purposes of Section 8.3, a Qualified Entity is a member of each Family Group to which such one or more Qualified Trusts that are its equity holders belong.

  • Former Spouse means the individual who is considered by Applicable Laws to be the Annuitant’s former spouse or common-law partner;

  • Surviving Spouse means the widow or widower, as the case may be, of a Deceased Participant or a Deceased Beneficiary (as applicable).

  • Eligible Spouse means a spouse of an Eligible Retiree who satisfies the requirements for eligibility described in the Eligibility section of this document, or an ex-spouse who is an Eligible Spouse with rights to coverage as an Eligible Spouse pursuant to a court order recognized by SHARP. A Spouse must be married to retiree at least one year prior to the effective date of retirement. A Spouse married after the retiree’s effective retirement date is considered a non-eligible spouse for purposes of the Plan. [See “Spouse”]

  • Designated Beneficiary means the beneficiary or beneficiaries the Participant designates, in a manner the Administrator determines, to receive amounts due or exercise the Participant’s rights if the Participant dies or becomes incapacitated. Without a Participant’s effective designation, “Designated Beneficiary” will mean the Participant’s estate.

  • Spouse means, an individual who,

  • additional spouse means a spouse by the party to the marriage who is additional to the party to the marriage;

  • de facto spouse means a person of the opposite sex to the employee who lives with the employee as the husband or wife of the employee on a bona fide domestic basis, although not legally married to that person.

  • Beneficiary(ies means the beneficiary(ies) designated by the Participant who are entitled to receive any distributions from the Plan payable upon the death of the Participant.

  • Supplemental Retirement Benefit means the benefit determined under Article V of this Plan.

  • Income beneficiary means a person to whom net income of a trust is or may be payable.

  • Contingent Beneficiary is the person that becomes the Beneficiary if the named Beneficiary dies prior to the Income Date.

  • Beneficiary means each designated person, or the estate of the deceased Executive, entitled to benefits, if any, upon the death of the Executive, determined according to Article 4.

  • Qualified beneficiary means a beneficiary who, on the date the beneficiary's qualification is determined:

  • Successor personal representative means a personal representative, other than a special administrator, who is appointed to succeed a previously appointed personal representative.

  • Surviving beneficiary or "surviving descendant" means a beneficiary or a descendant who did not predecease the decedent and is not considered to have predeceased the decedent under section 2702.

  • Dependent children also means natural children, stepchildren, adopted children, children of a domestic partner, children placed for adoption and foster children.

  • Supplemental Benefit means the monthly benefit payable to the Executive under this Agreement.

  • Successor Manager Any Independent Contractor as selected or retained by the Special Servicer, on behalf of the Trustee for the benefit of the Trust and the Companion Loan Holders, to serve as manager of a Foreclosed Property, which designation, as evidenced by written confirmation from each Rating Agency, shall not result in the downgrade, withdrawal or qualification of the ratings assigned to the Certificates by such Rating Agency.

  • Pre-Retirement Survivor Benefit means the benefit set forth in Article 6.

  • Late Retirement Date means the first day of the month coinciding with or next following a Participant's actual Retirement Date after having reached his Normal Retirement Date.

  • Supplemental Retirement Plan means (i) the Company’s Amended and Restated Supplemental Executive Retirement Plan, (ii) the Company’s Supplemental Management Retirement Plan, (iii) the Company’s Amended and Restated Top Hat Restoration Plan, and (iv) the Company’s Defined Contribution Restoration Plan.

  • Retired Participant means a person who has been a Participant, but who has become entitled to retirement benefits under the Plan.

  • Institutionalized spouse means a married person living in a medical institution, or nursing facility, or home- and community-based waiver setting who is likely to remain living in these circumstances for at least 30 consecutive days, and whose spouse is not in a medical institution or nursing facility for the purposes of rules 441—75.5(249A), 441—75.16(249A), and 441—76.10(249A). “Local office” shall mean the county office of the department of human services or the mental health

  • Community spouse means a spouse of an institutionalized spouse for the purposes of rules 441—75.5(249A), 441—75.16(249A), and 441—76.10(249A).

  • Dependent person means a person who cannot demonstrate financial independence from parents or persons other than a spouse and who does not meet the criteria for independence established in Section 5 of this administrative regulation.
